Leading

change

A successful affordable housing strategy is comprised of many facets that require sound policy and strong collaboration.

The Nevada Housing Coalition works actively with its Members on our Policy Committee to explore and implement opportunities for action.

2023 Legislative Session

NHC is actively working with our Legislators on policy solutions to address both our supply shortage and the access to existing housing. Below you will find information and resources on current legislative priorities:

April Lunch & Learn 2023 - Supportive Housing: A Proven Cost Effective Investment

This Lunch & Learn discussed Supportive Housing and the Denver Social Impact Bond Initiative. Brooke Page, Director, Southwest at CSH, spoke on the key features of AB310 and why Supportive Housing is a solution to address affordable housing and homelessness in Nevada. Katie Bonamasso, MSW, Senior Program Manager at CSH, presented an overview of the Denver Social Impact Bond Initiative including showing 77% of residents staying stably housed after 3 years and data findings before and after the program – measured savings of public dollars for emergency room visits, jail stays and more.

Affordable Housing Day at the Legislature 2023

On May 1, 2023, NHC hosted Affordable Housing Day at the Legislature. With the mindset that we are all in different lanes, going different speeds, but moving in one direction, the day was themed Destination: Housing. We hosted over 70 housing stakeholders, and the day included a tour of the legislature, time to visit the Senate and Assembly Chambers, and a lunch with special guest speakers where attendees could mingle with their elected officials.
