SEPTEMBER 2022

From the Executive Director

It’s hard to believe that our 2022 Nevada Housing Conference is just 3 weeks away! The Event Planning Committee has been hard at work building an engaging event. In fact, the momentum surrounding the event has been so great, we surpassed our initial registration limit of 180! We’ve worked with our venue and will now be able to accommodate up to 250 attendees. If you haven’t registered yet, I encourage you to do so.

This year, we will be hosting our Annual Member Meeting ahead of the Conference. Join us for networking, appetizers, and a cash bar. A policy discussion will be held and, for the first time ever, we will be giving out some special awards to recognize a few of our members.

Also taking place the day before our Conference is ElevateNV Affordable Housing Development 101. If you haven’t checked out our newest capacity-building program yet, scroll down for a list of the engaging and meaningful programs we’re preparing for you.

I hope to see you next month to celebrate the tremendous momentum we’re seeing in affordable housing in Nevada.

Christine

County Awards $120 Million to Create and Preserve 3,100 Affordable Housing Units

Nearly $120 million in federal funding was approved by Clark County commissioners earlier this month to create or rehabilitate around 3,100 units in an effort to address the affordable housing crisis in Nevada. The funding is part of relief efforts from the American Rescue Plan Act. Many of the projects will target renters earning between 50-60% AMI. Over 2,000 jobs will be created, and 967 units will be rehabilitated. Click here to see the list of projects.

ElevateNV is off and running!

Building on the momentum of the Supportive Housing Incubator Academy, we will continue to provide education and training opportunities for housing professionals looking to increase their access to resources, partnerships, and development experience to implement innovative and sustainable projects that win competitive funding opportunities, and most importantly, serve to meaningfully close the gap in Nevada’s low-income housing inventory.
