Welcome to our first Newsletter of 2023!

After a restful holiday break, we are sprinting into the new year and bringing the momentum from 2022 with us.

We have 3 events already scheduled this month. Register now for our 2023 Lunch & Learn Series, and don’t miss ElevateNV’s Developing Affordable Housing Workshop. As we work on planning out our upcoming events for the year, I want to remind you that you can watch past events on our YouTube channel. This is an excellent resource to learn more about the complex topic of affordable housing, and we’ve made it easy for you to navigate by creating playlists for past events including Lunch & Learns and ElevateNV specific trainings.

Developing Affordable Housing in Nevada: A Workshop

**The $10 registration fee covers the cost of coffee, lunch, and beverages. Scholarships are available.

In these workshops, you will learn from in-depth project case studies focused on rental acquisition and new development. Learn more about development as a whole and talk through financing options, maximizing affordability, and project phasing. The sessions will also feature conversation with Nevada leaders, and you will have the opportunity to access immediate feedback and action planning specific to projects you are pursuing.

Winning Projects: An Affordable Housing Project Showcase on Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco Grantees

Join us for our first Lunch & Learn of 2023 where we will highlight unique affordable housing projects that have leveraged the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco’s Affordable Housing Program (AHP) Funds in celebration of the 2023 launch of the AHP Nevada Targeted Fund. The AHP General Fund and Nevada Targeted Fund can be used to support gap financing for a wide variety of affordable housing development projects from adaptive reuse to new construction. Application Window Now Open: 2023 AHP General Fund and AHP Nevada Targeted Fund

The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco has announced that applications are now being accepted for their 2023 Affordable Housing Program (AHP) General Fund and AHP Nevada Targeted Fund. The deadline to submit an application is March 9, 2023. Applications must be submitted through the Bank’s secure portal, and the deadline to request a project application workspace on the portal is March 2, 2023.

Reno Housing Authority is Hiring

Reno Housing Authority is currently seeking to fill positions for Director of Development, Senior Project Manager of Construction, and Senior Project Manager of Development Finance.

The Director of Development will lead, direct, manage, and oversee the activities and operations for the Housing Authority’s Development Department. The Senior Project Manager positions will coordinate and oversee funding and construction for multiple capital improvement projects relating to affordable housing.

Volunteers Needed: 2023 Southern Nevada Homeless Census

Over 600 volunteers are needed for this year’s homeless census, also known as a Point-in-Time Count. Volunteers will conduct a street-by-street canvas to help count and identify individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The data obtained in the count will assist service providers, policy makers, funders, and local, state and federal governments. To learn more about the Homeless Census, click here.
