Our Mission
To promote the development and preservation of affordable housing for all Nevadans through collaboration, education, and advocacy.
It’s hard to believe that I am writing a quick note to acknowledge the end of 2021. This was an eventful year for the Coalition. We led efforts on 2 critical pieces of legislation for affordable housing, added an additional full-time staff member, launched a new website, held our first hybrid event, and played a role in major advocacy efforts via the American Rescue Plan and Build Back Better Acts.
We will be reviewing some of these accomplishments at our Annual Member Meeting on Monday, December 6th. If you haven’t yet joined as a member, please consider doing so. Your membership supports our efforts to advance and promote affordable housing for all Nevadans.
As we celebrate the holidays, we are grateful for all of the amazing relationships we have built and strengthened this year, our dedicated partners working on the front lines, our generous members, and our incredible leaders. And we know there is much more work to do. Too many Nevadans are struggling because they lack access to affordable housing. With this in mind, we will continue to work with all of you for solutions in the coming year.

A Word from Our President
Bill Brewer
Executive Director, Nevada Rural Housing Authority & President of Nevada Housing Coalition
Inspired, grateful and hopeful – these are my sentiments as I look back at the 2021 conference, which was a product of the hard work of our event team and generosity of our founders, sponsors and speakers! The Coalition was thrilled to offer in-person and virtual options, and we thank you for your feedback so we know how to improve future events. From content to tech, food to networking, I know the details of a conference matter because YOUR time matters, and hope you found this year’s event as valuable as I did! As the housing community looks ahead, I’m optimistic we can continue the mantra: Housing is EVERYTHING! Beyond the conference, let’s keep housing at the core of our discussions of relief, recovery and the future of our Nevada communities. Housing is a cornerstone of Nevada’s success, and we are grateful to our state’s leadership for helping harness opportunity and turn it into actionable plans designed to help our state not only recover from the pandemic, but succeed well into the future. On behalf of the Nevada Housing Coalition Board, I’d like to extend our appreciation to all conference speakers, guests and organizers, and thank you for your commitment to ensuring ‘Home Means Nevada’ rings true as we work toward affordable housing for all.

NHC works hard to bring timely information to our Members and Nevada housing stakeholders. One way we do this is through our monthly Lunch & Learn Series. These webinars feature industry experts sharing relevant and engaging topics on affordable housing and are attended live by 70+ participants monthly.
Past topics have included:
History Is Made, Almost: House Passes Build Back Better Act
It’s been almost two weeks since the House passed the biggest investment in affordable housing ever. The historic impact of this bill will increase access and availability of affordable housing for all Nevadans. It now sits in the hands of the Senate for approval.
Nevada Data
Of the $15 billion allocated to build and preserve more than 150,000 homes, Nevada is estimated to receive $148.2 million. Through the expansion of rental assistance and housing vouchers, an estimated 2,900 Nevadan households would be served, which equals approximately 6,400 people.
