Award Overview
At the 2026 Nevada Housing Conference on September 23-24 in Reno, we will be hosting the fifth annual Affordable Housing Champion Award ceremony. We invite NHC Members to submit nominations for potential awardees. NHC Members may submit as many nominations as they would like. Nominees do not have to be members of the Nevada Housing Coalition but should be engaged with affordable housing work in Nevada.
Nominations will be reviewed and scored by the NHC Conference Planning Committee and NHC staff.

Individual Awards
Culture of Leadership
Recognizes an individual who demonstrates strong leadership in the affordable housing community through mentorship, community impact, and the respect and recognition of their peers.
Nomination Questions:
- How has the nominee demonstrated leadership in the affordable housing sector?
- In what ways has the nominee mentored or supported others professionally?
- Describe the impact the nominee has had on their community or housing outcomes.
- How has the nominee earned recognition or influence among peers in the sector?
Emerging Leader
Recognizes a rising professional (5 years or less of experience) who demonstrates initiative, collaboration, and professional growth while making meaningful contributions and impact through housing-related work.
Nomination Questions:
- How has the nominee demonstrated initiative in housing development, finance, programs, etc.?
- How does the nominee collaborate effectively with colleagues, partners, or stakeholders?
- How has the nominee grown professionally in their career?
- What tangible impact has the nominee had on housing projects or outcomes?
Heart & Action for Housing
Recognizes an individual who demonstrates commitment, advocacy, and action to advance affordable housing in Nevada, contributing to meaningful housing outcomes.
Nomination Questions:
- How has the nominee demonstrated a strong commitment to affordable housing?
- In what ways has the nominee acted as an advocate for housing solutions?
- Describe specific actions or initiatives the nominee has undertaken.
- What tangible impact has the nominee had on housing outcomes in Nevada?
Organizational Awards
Excellence in Housing Collaboration
Recognizes an organization demonstrating outstanding cross-sector collaboration to advance housing solutions. Honors partnerships that effectively align resources, strengthen coordination, and produce meaningful housing outcomes.
Nomination Questions:
- How effectively does the organization engage and sustain cross-sector collaboration?
- How has the organization’s collaborative effort helped overcome barriers or challenges in housing development, access, or delivery?
- How well does the organization leverage and coordinate resources to strengthen housing outcomes?
- What tangible outcomes or improvements in housing access, stability, or delivery have resulted from the collaboration?
Innovation in Built Environment
Recognizes an organization for outstanding achievement in housing design and development, demonstrating design excellence, community-centered planning, sustainable practices, and innovative approaches to regulatory or technical challenges.
Nomination Questions
- How does the project demonstrate excellence and innovation in design?
- In what ways does the project prioritize the community and its needs?
- Describe how the project incorporates sustainable practices.
- How has the project overcome technical or regulatory challenges in innovative ways?
Impact in Housing
Recognizes an organization that advances housing solutions through programs, services, and partnerships that improve housing access, stability, or equity.
Nomination Questions:
- How has the organization driven meaningful progress in housing through programs, advocacy, or services?
- What programs, services, or advocacy efforts has the organization undertaken?
- Describe key collaborations or partnerships and their effectiveness.
- What measurable impact has the organization had on housing outcomes?
