Building Skills to Build Housing

Unprecedented times call for unprecedented opportunities. The Nevada Housing Coalition is proud to announce its newest program, ElevateNV Affordable Housing, made possible with a grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.

Join us as we work to build the overall capacity of Nevada-based organizations to expand affordable housing for those who need it most.

Supportive Housing Academy

CSH, in partnership with the Nevada Housing Coalition (NHC), is launching a statewide Supportive Housing (SH) Academy for funders, developers, housing and service providers, government and tribal officials to assess readiness, share knowledge about innovative and research-backed housing solutions and foster the skills and tools needed to create quality supportive housing in Nevada.

This exciting program will include tailored education and training on the organizational readiness, visioning, financing, development, and stewardship involved in creating and sustaining supportive housing.  From June to December, we will be hosting policy forums, virtual information and listening sessions, and in-person education and training (with virtual options) for participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of what supportive housing is, how an organization can prepare to create it, how it is developed, and why it should be a housing and funding priority for Nevada.

Additionally, some academy graduates will be eligible for advanced training and technical assistance to support projects with at least 20% units dedicated to supportive housing.

For more information on CSH and a definition of quality supportive housing, see CSH’s website: www.csh.org/quality.
